So another one steps up and makes a trilogy. In this case, maybe leave the good stuff to WB or Peter Jackson. Spiderman 3 takes place 2 years after Spiderman 2. We find out Peter is having some Mary Jane troubles. No surprise there as fame has gotten to his head. There are a total of 3 new bad guys and I think that was where they bit off a little more than they could chew. I felt that there wasn't enough screen time to develop even one of the characters. The obvious choice would have been to accentuate The Black Spiderman/Venom. This almost was at the level it should have been at. Then there was Sandman. Turns out he really killed Uncle Ben in the first movie. Making it up as they go? I think so. Then there was Harry. Probably the best character for me in the movie. I like his change of heart and attitude two times in the film. Now on to the worst. Tobey Maguire. Ouch. He acting as Spiderman was so bad, I thought about shutting the movie off. I was torn in the middle of the film. I hate emo kids, but when Spiderman turned emo, I was kinda impressed. I thought that aspect of Tobey acting was done perfectly, but everything else was crap. It seems they rushed the film to make the summer season, packed too much backstory in (why is Ben gone?- 700 times) and didn't achieve anything better than the last movie.
Rating: 7.4 out of 10
Best Part: James Franco as Harry
Worst Part: Tobey Maguire as Wussy Spiderman
