The Mars Volta: 'The Bedlam In Goliath'

The Mars Volta are recording their fourth album, "The Bedlam in Goliath," at Ocean Way Recording with engineer Robert Carranza.

Set for a fall release, band member Omar Rodriguez-Lopez is producing the record, as he did the last two Mars Volta albums. Engineer and mixer Robert Carranza is widely known and respected for his work with such artists as Los Lobos, Ozomatli, Jack Johnson, Beck, Eels, Molotov, and Supergrass.

The Mars Volta released their debut album, "De-Loused in the Comatorium," in 2003. The band returned in early 2005 with their second full-length release, the ambitious song cycle "Frances the Mute."

They also issued the live set "Scab Dates" later that year. Their third album, "Amputechture," arrived in 2006, featuring performances by the Red Hot Chili Peppers' guitarist John Frusciante.
